an attribute, then it is His attribute and cannot refer to anyone other than Him. Likewise, when they interpreted “He created Adam in His form” to mean “according to His attributes,” the attributes belonged to Allah: those by which He is described, such as being All-Knowing, All-Powerful, the Disposer of affairs, the Sovereign, and so forth. What was meant was not merely an attribute of the created being when the hadith stated, “Allah created Adam in His form.”

Thirteenth: Even if this had been expressed indefinitely, as “He then comes to them in a form or with an attribute,” it would necessarily be He Himself who comes, and He would necessarily possess whatever that description entails. This is like saying, “The king came in a magnificent form or state.” Such wording does not mean that what comes is merely something he has brought about. Rather, he himself must be the one who comes in a magnificent form or state. How much more so when the text says, “Then Allah comes to them in His form in which they saw Him the first time,” alongside the wordings already mentioned!

Fourteenth: All these wordings explicitly state that Allah Most High is the One who comes. In this, they agree with what the Quran indicates and explain it, for the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, stated at the beginning of these hadiths that they will see their Lord just as
