Seventh: He said, “Then Allah will come to them in a form other than the form they recognize and say, ‘I am your Lord.’ They will say, ‘We seek refuge in Allah from you. We will remain here until our Lord comes to us. When our Lord comes, we will recognize Him.’ Then Allah will come to them in the form they recognize and say, ‘I am your Lord.’ They will say, ‘You are our Lord,’ and follow Him.”
In the other hadith: “Then, when none remain except those who used to worship Allah, righteous and wicked alike, Allah will come to them in a form nearest to that in which they had seen Him.”
In another version: “We heard a caller proclaim, ‘Let every people join what they used to worship.’ We are only waiting for our Lord.” Then the Compeller will come to them in a form other than the form in which they saw Him the first time.
In another version: “Allah, the Lord of the worlds, will come to them in a form nearest to that in which they had seen Him. They will be asked, ‘What are you waiting for?’ They will say, ‘We parted from the people when we were most in need of them and did not keep their company. We are waiting for our Lord, whom we used to worship.’ He will say, ‘I am your Lord.’ They will say, ‘We associate nothing with Allah,’ two or three times. He will say, ‘Is there a sign between you and Him by which you would recognize Him?’ They will say, ‘Yes.’ Then He will uncover His shin, and there will be no one who used to prostrate to Allah of his own accord
