Bayān Talbīs al-JahmiyyaIbn Taimiya

in several authentic hadiths narrated by Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), Abū Saʿīd, ʿAdī ibn Hātim (may Allah be pleased with them), and others. The hadith also indicates that this will occur before the caller proclaims that each community is to follow what it used to worship. For this is the reckoning of the servants. Once they have been called to account, they will be commanded to follow their gods. The Lord will reveal Himself to His believing servants, and they will follow Him. The bridge will be laid across Hell, and the God-fearing will cross it, while He will leave the wrongdoers kneeling within Hell.

It is known that the believers will have met Him at that stage, before the caller proclaims that each community is to follow what it used to worship. This, and Allah knows best, is the seeing of Allah mentioned in the hadiths of Abū Saʿīd, Abū Hurayrah, and others, in the words: “Allah will then come to them in a form other than His form in which they saw Him the first time,” and “in His form which they recognize.” This is the form in which they saw Him when they met Him and He addressed them before the proclamation.
