a Word of Hūd”:
“He is delimited by the limits of every delimited thing. Nothing is delimited without its limits also delimiting the Real. He therefore permeates everything called a creature or an originated being. Were this not so, existence would not be possible, for He is existence itself. In His very essence, He preserves everything, and preserving anything does not burden Him. His preservation—Exalted is He—of all things is His preservation of His own form, lest anything be other than His form. Nothing else is possible. He is the witness in the witness and the witnessed in the witnessed. The world is His form, and He is the spirit of the world, governing it. He is thus the Great Man.
He is the whole cosmos,
And He is the One
Through whose being my being subsists.
Thus I said: He takes nourishment;
My existence is His nourishment,
And Him we take as our model.
In Him, from Him, is my refuge,
If viewed from one perspective.”
