When bidding farewell, one says, “May Allah take my place in caring for you.” In the condolence reported by al-Shāfi'ī in his Musnad, the household of Allah’s Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, heard a voice consoling them with these words: “O household of Allah’s Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in Allah there is solace for every calamity, a replacement for all that perishes, and recompense for all that is missed.”
