parts of the body, or else not prohibit reviling any of them, since the soul’s connection to them is the same in each case.
Eighth, the wording of the other hadith, agreed upon by al-Bukhārī and Muslim—“Allah created Adam in His image; his height was sixty cubits”—explicitly states that the one created in His image was sixty cubits tall. This explicitly refers to the body. How, then, can it be said that the body is not included in the hadith and that only the soul is meant?

“And when We said to the angels, ‘Prostrate before Adam.’”
And His saying:
“And We said, ‘O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise.’” [al-Baqarah 35]
And His saying, Exalted is He:
“Then Adam received words from his Lord, and He accepted his repentance.” [al-Baqarah 37]
And His saying:
“O children of Adam, do not let Satan tempt you as he drove your parents out of Paradise.” [al-Aʿrāf 27]
