“Those who show mercy will be shown mercy by the Most Merciful”; “You are ever-pardoning and love to pardon, so pardon me”; and “Allah is clean and loves cleanliness.”

The point, however, is that these people, despite being the most emphatic in disavowing any likeness between Allah and creation, claim that the perfection of philosophy, as they understand it, consists in a person acting in ways that make him resemble Allah to some extent. Some speculative theologians have agreed with them on this, although many speculative theologians disagree with them.
