Al-Khallāl said: ‘Alī ibn ‘Īsā also informed me that Hanbal told him: “I asked Abū ‘Abd Allāh about the hadiths reporting that Allah, Blessed and Exalted, descends to the lowest heaven, that Allah will be seen, that Allah places His foot, and other similar hadiths. Abū ‘Abd Allāh replied, ‘We believe in them and affirm their truth, without a “how” or a “meaning”. We reject none of them, and we know that what the Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, brought is true, provided that they are transmitted through chains of narration
