among the people of the qiblah, while presenting the argument of those who declare anyone who likens Allah to His creation an unbeliever: “Fourth, the Muslim community unanimously agrees that anyone who likens Allah to His creation is an unbeliever. Now, such a person must either be someone who holds that Allah resembles His creation in various respects, or be someone other than this. The first possibility is false, since no rational person has held such a view, and they cannot unanimously declare someone who does not exist an unbeliever. Rather, the person who likens Allah to His creation is someone who affirms that God, Exalted is He, possesses a quality whereby he likens Him to His creation.
“One who ascribes a body to Allah does precisely this, for if he affirms that Allah is a body confined to a particular region of space, he thereby likens Him to created bodies. It is thus established that anyone who ascribes a body to Allah likens Him to His creation, and everyone who likens Him to His creation is an unbeliever by consensus
