Bayān Talbīs al-JahmiyyaIbn Taimiya

al-Bukhārī, it is narrated from Ibn Shihāb, from ‘Ubayd Allāh, from ‘Abd Allāh, that Ibn ‘Abbās said:

“How can you ask the People of the Book about anything when your Book, which was revealed to your Messenger, is the most recent of the Books to come from the Most Merciful, and you read it pure and unadulterated? He has told you that the People of the Book altered and changed Allah’s Books, writing books with their own hands and saying, ‘This is from Allah,’ to gain a paltry price thereby. Should not the knowledge that has come to you deter you from questioning them? No, by Allah, we have never seen a single one of them ask you about what has been revealed to you.”
