Bayān ibn Sam‘ān, who took it from Tālūt, the son of Labīd ibn A‘sam’s sister. Tālūt took it from Labīd ibn A‘sam, the sorcerer who bewitched the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He was among those to whom the following words of Allah Most High most directly applied:

“And when a messenger from Allah came to them, confirming what was with them, a group of those who had been given the Scripture cast aside
