Abū ʿAbd Allāh said: ‘They argued against me that day, saying, “Al-Baqarah will come on the Day of Resurrection, and Tabārak will come.” I told them that this is the reward. Allah Most High said:

“And your Lord comes, with the angels, rank upon rank.” (22) [al-Fajr 22]

It is only His power that comes. The Quran consists only of parables, admonitions, such-and-such, and commands.’ Hanbal said elsewhere: ‘Admonitions, commands, and prohibitions.’”
