This, then, affirms the description of an attribute of the Most Merciful as being touched, as in His words:

“Indeed, those who pledge allegiance to you are actually pledging allegiance to Allah. The Hand of Allah is over their hands.”
[al-Fath 10]

The fourth point: As for his statement, “I indeed perceive the breath of the Most Merciful from the right,” I have likewise found no statement from Ahmad concerning it, nor have any of his companions who collected his statements, such as al-Khallāl and others, transmitted anything from him about it. Ibn Hāmid, Ibn Battah, al-Qādī and others, however, discussed it.
