Bayān Talbīs al-JahmiyyaIbn Taimiya

a right hand to Him, since this is not impossible for Him: attributing a right hand to Him is like attributing a hand to Him, and that is permissible. He said: Nothing comparable applies here. This is supported by Ahmad’s explanation of His words:

“He is Allah in the heavens and on earth.” [al-An‘ām 3]

He said: “This means that He is the God of those in the heavens and the God of those on earth, while He is above the Throne.” Thus, he did not take His words “and on earth” in their apparent sense, but interpreted them and explained that He is above the Throne. It is therefore likewise necessary to refrain from affirming an attribute of His essence on earth
