my servant has of Me, so let him expect good of Me.’” In Sahīh Muslim, Jābir reports that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“Let none of you die without expecting good of Allah Most High.”
Thus, whoever supposes and conceives that his Lord knows all things and has power over all things has a true supposition and conception, although he is required to be certain of this. This is unlike someone who supposes and assumes that He does not hear his secrets and private conversations, as Allah Most High says:
“Or do they think that We do not hear their secrets and private conversations? Indeed We do, and Our messengers are with them, recording (80).” [al-Zukhruf: 80]
And He says: “While they think that they are
عبدي بي، فليظن بي خيرًا» وفي صحيح مسلم، عن جابر،
عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه قال:
«لا يموتن أحدكم إلا وهو يحسن الظن بالله تعالى»
فمن ظن وتوهم في ربه، أنه بكل شيء عليم، وعلى كل شيء قدير، كان هذا الظن والتوهم حقًّا، وإن كان الواجب تيقن ذلك، بخلاف من ظن وحسب، أنه لا يسمع سره ونجواه،
كما قال تعالى:
{أَمْ يَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّا لَا نَسْمَعُ سِرَّهُمْ وَنَجْوَاهُم بَلَى وَرُسُلُنَا لَدَيْهِمْ يَكْتُبُونَ
