earth, and the One in heaven will show you mercy.” He also said: “Allah does not show mercy to those who show no mercy to people.” Allah Most High says:
“If you support Allah, He will support you.” [Muhammad 7]
He also says:
“If you disclose good or conceal it, or pardon an offense, then Allah is ever Pardoning, All-Powerful.” (149) [al-Nisā’ 149]
And He says:
“Let them pardon and overlook. Would you not love for Allah to forgive you?” [al-Nūr 22]
Since this is so, the apparent meaning of the statement is that one of the two measures is of the same kind as the other, and both are expressed in terms of spatial measurement.
الأرض يرحمكم من في السماء وقال لا يرحم الله من لا يرحم الناس وقال تعالى إِنْ تَنْصُرُوا اللَّهَ يَنْصُرْكُمْ

وقال إِنْ تُبْدُوا خَيْرًا أَوْ تُخْفُوهُ أَوْ تَعْفُوا عَنْ سُوءٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَفُوًّا قَدِيرًا

وقال وَلْيَعْفُوا وَلْيَصْفَحُوا أَلَا تُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يَغْفِرَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ
[النور ٢٢]
وإذا كان كذلك فظاهر الخطاب أن أحد التقديرين من جنس الآخر وكلاهما مذكور بلفظ المساحة
