at My servants! They have come to Me dishevelled and dust-covered. What do these people seek?”

Prostration is the ultimate expression of a servant’s submission and humility. The more a servant humbles himself, the more Allah raises him. As recorded in Sahīh Muslim, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

“Charity does not diminish wealth. Allah only increases a servant in honour through his pardoning others. No one humbles himself before Allah without Allah raising him.”
