we have turned in repentance.” [al-Mumtahanah 4]

He said:

“And whatever you disagree over, its judgment belongs to Allah. Such is Allah, my Lord; in Him I have put my trust, and to Him I turn.” (10) [al-Shūrā 10]

The Exalted said:

“Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns in repentance.” (13) [al-Shūrā 13]

He said:

“Yet they disbelieve in the Most Merciful. Say, ‘He is my Lord; there is no deity except Him. In Him I have put my trust, and to Him I turn in repentance.’” (30) [al-Ra'd 30]

And the words of our Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace:

“Actions are only according to intentions, and each person will have only what he intended. Whoever emigrates to Allah and His Messenger, his emigration is to Allah and His Messenger. But whoever emigrates for some worldly gain or to marry a woman, his emigration is to whatever he emigrated for.”
