Bayān Talbīs al-JahmiyyaIbn Taimiya

Whether We show you some of what We promise them or take you in death, to Us they will be returned. (77)” [Ghāfir 77]

He says:

“If only you could see when they are made to stand before the Fire and say, ‘If only we could be sent back! We would not deny the signs of our Lord and would be among the believers.’ (27)”

Then, further on, He Most High says:

“If only you could see when they are made to stand before their Lord. He will say, ‘Is this not the truth?’ They will say, ‘Yes, by our Lord.’ He will say, ‘Then taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve.’ (30) Those who deny the meeting with Allah have certainly lost, until, when the Hour comes upon them suddenly, they say, ‘Alas for our neglect of it!’” [al-An‘ām 27–31]

He thus states that they will stand before their Lord and that those who deny the meeting with Allah are losers. Allah Most High says:

“They say, ‘When we have disappeared into the earth, will we really be created anew?’ Rather, they disbelieve in the meeting with their Lord. (10) Say, ‘The Angel of Death, who has been entrusted with you, will take your souls. Then to your Lord you will be returned.’ (11) If only you could see when the criminals hang their heads before their Lord, saying, ‘Our Lord, we have seen and heard, so send us back, and we will do righteous deeds. We are now certain.’ (12)” [al-Sajdah 10–12]

He mentions their disbelief in the meeting with their Lord, states that they will return to their Lord after death, and describes the criminals hanging their heads before their Lord. He says:

“Seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, it is burdensome except for the humbly submissive, (45) who are certain that they will meet their Lord and that to Him they will return. (46)” [al-Baqarah 45–46]

He says:

“So whoever hopes to meet his Lord, let him do righteous deeds and associate no one in the worship of his Lord. (110)” [al-Kahf 110]

He says:

“Their greeting on the Day they meet Him will be ‘Peace,’ and He has prepared for them a generous reward. (44)” [al-Ahzāb 44]

He says:

“Those who, when they are struck by
