are likewise. As for His words:

“And He sent down for you eight pairs of livestock.” [al-Zumar 6]

He sends down fluid from the loins of males into the wombs of females, then brings down the fetuses from the females’ wombs to the earth. Thus He sent down eight pairs of them. It is well known in Arabic that a person is said to have “discharged fluid,” or “semen,” or to have “not discharged,” as in the hadith.

For He, glorified be He, said:

“He created you from a single soul, then made from it its mate.” [al-Zumar 6]

Thus Eve was created from Adam himself, from his rib
