and deception, scheming and ridicule perpetrated without right, Allah requited them for this by mocking, deceiving and ridiculing them in accordance with truth and justice. Similar are His words:

“They are indeed devising a plot, (15) and I too am devising a plan. (16)”
[al-Tāriq 15-16]

And His words:

“Or do they intend a plot? It is the disbelievers themselves who will be plotted against. (42)”
[al-Tūr 42]

And His words:

“So leave to Me those who deny this message. We will gradually draw them to ruin in ways they do not perceive. (44)”
[al-Qalam 44]

And His words:

“Do they think that, by providing them with wealth and children, (55) We are hastening to bestow good things upon them? Rather, they do not perceive. (56)”
[al-Mu’minūn 55-56]

And His words:

“So when they forgot what they had been reminded of, We opened to them the gates of all things until, as they rejoiced in what they had been given, We seized them suddenly, and they were left in despair. (44)”
[al-An‘ām 44]

Since this is so, and since it is known that these heretical Jahmīs and all their followers harbor greater hypocrisy than is found among most adherents of deviant doctrines, and that they possess a corresponding measure of the hypocrites’ traits—ridicule, mockery, deception and the like—Allah Most High requites them for their deeds with a fitting recompense:

“And your Lord is never unjust to His servants. (46)”
[Fussilat]

This applies both to what He commands and prescribes and to what He decrees and threatens. This is further established by the tenth argument, namely that these Jahmīs make such use of
