‘Abbād ibn al-‘Awwām said, “In his teachings, Bishr al-Marīsī claims that He is not a thing”—meaning that Allah is not a thing.

He also said, “I spoke with Bishr and his followers, and found that their words ultimately amounted to saying that there is nothing in heaven.”

It is reported that Abū Bakr ibn ‘Ayyāsh said, “All the Jahmiyyah seek to establish is that there is nothing in heaven.”
