Bayān Talbīs al-JahmiyyaIbn Taimiya

is known to be false as a matter of basic Islamic knowledge, and numerous passages of the Quran rule it out. Throughout his entire book, he ascribed nothing else specifically to the Karrāmiyyah.

As for the other views his followers ascribe to the Karrāmiyyah, such as corporealism and the inherence of temporal events, he reported these in his book from groups among the people of the qiblah—speculative theologians, adherents of hadith, Sufis, and Quranic exegetes—indeed, from other groups predating the Karrāmiyyah. This applies especially to the basic doctrine of the inherence of temporal events, which he reported from various groups of jurists and Sufis among the adherents of hadith, and speculative theologians among the Murji’ah, the Shī’ah, and others.

The position on faith that he reported from Jahm and al-Sālihī is the very position defended by the leading authorities among his followers and attributed by them to him. There is no doubt that in the books he composed towards the end of his life, such as al-Maqālāt
