in what We have provided for you?” [al-Rūm 28]
And likewise His words, Most High:
“Do not set up another god alongside Allah, lest you be cast into Hell, blamed and banished. (39) Has your Lord, then, favored you with sons and taken for Himself females from among the angels? You are indeed making a monstrous claim. (40) We have explained matters in various ways in this Quran so that they may take heed, yet it only increases their aversion. (41) Say, ‘If there were other gods alongside Him, as they claim, they would surely have sought a way to the Lord of the Throne.’ (42)” [al-Isrā’ 39-42]
And likewise His words, glorified is He:
“So ask them: Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? (149)” [al-Sāffāt 149]
And His words, Most High:
“Yet they have made some of His servants a part of Him. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful. (15) Or has He taken daughters from among His creation and favored you with sons? (16) When one of them is given news of the very thing he ascribes to the Most Merciful, his face darkens and he is filled with suppressed grief. (17) Do they attribute to Him one brought up in finery and unable to express herself clearly in a dispute? (18) They declare the angels, who are servants of the Most Merciful, to be female. Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be recorded, and they will be questioned. (19)” [al-Zukhruf 15-19]
And He, Most High, says:
“Have you considered al-Lāt and al-‘Uzzā, (19) and Manāt, the third and last? (20) Are you to have sons and He daughters? (21) That, then, is an unjust division! (22)” [al-Najm 19-22]
And He says:
“They assign to Allah a share of the crops and livestock He has created, saying, ‘This is for Allah’—so they claim—‘and this is for our partners.’ But what is for their partners does not reach Allah, while what is for Allah reaches their partners. How evil is their judgment! (136)” [al-An‘ām 136]
And He says:
“He puts forward an example for Us, forgetting his own creation. He says, ‘Who will give life to bones when they have crumbled to dust?’ (78) Say, ‘He who brought them into being the first time will give them life, and He has full knowledge of all creation. (79) It is He who produces fire for you from green trees, from which you kindle fire. (80) Is He who created the heavens and the earth not able to create the like of them? Yes indeed! He is the Supreme Creator, the All-Knowing.’ (81)” [Yā Sīn 78-81]
And He, Most High, says:
“It is He who originates creation, then repeats it
