the angels, as He says:
“And when Satan made their deeds seem fair to them and said, ‘No one among mankind can overcome you today, and I am your protector.’ But when the two forces came within sight of one another, he turned on his heels and said, ‘I have nothing to do with you. I see what you do not see. I fear Allah, and Allah is severe in punishment.’ {48}” [al-Anfāl 48]
If, then, he is accursed, cast out and banished from meeting Allah’s angels or hearing the revelation they speak, it is evident that his distance from Allah is greater still, and that Allah is all the more deserving of being declared exalted and holy above having devils near Him. Thus, if many places are filled with devils, and He, exalted is He, were in every place, the devils would be near Him, neither kept away nor banished from Him. Rather, they would be able to hear His speech directly from Him, let alone from the angels.
It is necessarily known that Allah must be declared exalted and holy above this—even more so than the angels, the prophets, the righteous, His speech which they convey, and the places where He is worshipped. For His own Self is more deserving of being declared exalted and holy than all these entities
