She then pointed toward heaven with her index finger. He asked her, “Who am I?” She pointed with her finger toward the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and toward heaven, meaning, “You are the Messenger of Allah.” He said, “Set her free.”

Ahmad narrated it in his Musnad, as did al-Barqī in his Musnad. Ibn Khuzaymah also narrated it in al-Tawhīd, in which he stipulated that he would cite only authentic hadiths as evidence. Its chain of transmission runs through Yazīd ibn Hārūn, who said: al-Masʿūdī informed us, from ʿAwn ibn ʿAbd Allāh, from
