and the impediments to it is partly true and partly false. Those who agreed with them in denying Allah’s being above creation while affirming the vision of Him obstinately dispute their true claims just as they reject their false ones. Thus both groups speak truth as well as falsehood.
If, however, those who affirm the vision while denying Allah’s being above creation are closer to the truth than those who deny both, this is because requiring nothing of the sensory faculty beyond its being sound is not correct. The senses vary in strength and weakness: one person’s sight may be sharper than another’s, and one person’s hearing, smell, or taste stronger than another’s. This occurs among both animals and human beings. Thus one person sees minute, subtle things that another does not see, sees distant things that another sees, and perceives light, radiance, and whiteness that another does not perceive. He may also hear distant and nearby sounds that another cannot hear.
Since this is so, Allah will make His servants’ powers of perception and movement in the Hereafter greater than their powers of perception and movement in this world. This is plain and clear.
