with each of them seeing Him alone with him, manifesting Himself to him and speaking privately to him, without seeing Him alone with or addressing anyone else.

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “When the servant says, ‘All praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds,’ Allah says, ‘My servant has praised Me.’ When he says, ‘The Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful,’ Allah says, ‘My servant has extolled Me.’”

Thus, each person speaks privately to Him, and Allah Most High says this to each of them. Attending to one matter does not distract Him from another. This is like when Ibn ‘Abbās was asked, “How does Allah Most High call all creation to account in a single hour?” He replied, “Just as He provides for them
