‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Awn, from Nāfi‘, from Ibn ‘Umar, who related that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

“O Allah, bless our Shām for us! O Allah, bless our Yemen for us!”

They said, “O Messenger of Allah, and our Najd?”

He said, “O Allah, bless our Shām for us! O Allah, bless our Yemen for us!”

They said, “O Messenger of Allah, and our Najd?”

I believe that on the third occasion he said, “There are earthquakes and tribulations there, and from there the horn of Satan rises.”

Al-Bukhārī and Muslim also recorded, through al-A‘mash from Abū Sālih, who related from Abū Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

“The people of Yemen have come to you,
