al-Marwazī, who said: Muhammad ibn al-Sabbāh al-Naysābūrī narrated to us, saying: Sulaymān ibn Dāwūd, Abū Dāwūd al-Khaffāf, narrated to us, saying: Ishāq ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Rāhawayh said: Allah, blessed and exalted be He, said:
‘The Most Merciful rose over the Throne (5)’ [Tā Hā: 5].
The scholars unanimously agree that He is above the Throne, having risen over it, and that He knows everything in the lowest depths of the seventh earth, in the depths of the seas, on the hilltops, in the valley bottoms, and in every place, just as He knows whatever is in the seven heavens and beneath the Throne. He encompasses all things in knowledge. No leaf falls without His knowing it, nor is there a grain in the darkness of land or sea but He knows all of it and has counted it. Knowing one thing does not hinder Him from knowing another.”
