ibn Hanbal was asked, “Is Allah, Blessed and Exalted, above the seventh heaven, upon His Throne, distinct from His creation, while His power and knowledge are everywhere?” He replied, “Yes, upon His Throne; nothing is beyond His knowledge.”

Al-Khallāl also said: ‘Abd al-Malik al-Maymūnī informed me that he asked Abū ‘Abd Allāh
