greater than Him. If He is larger than the Throne, you have claimed that He extends beyond it. If He is equal to it, then, when the heavens and the earth are added to the Throne, they would be larger than—fables he utters, nonsense he toys with, and errors by which he misleads! Had there been anyone to take action against him for Allah’s sake, he would have cut off the tip of his tongue. What disgrace for a people whose jurist and esteemed authority is this man, with all this discernment and reasoning, and all this ignorance and error!

To this babbling windbag we say: Allah is greater than everything and larger than all creation. The Throne did not bear Him by virtue of its own magnitude or strength, nor did the bearers of the Throne bear Him by their own power, nor support His Throne by their bodily might. Rather, they bore it by His power, His will, His intent, and His aid. Without that, they could not have borne it.
