He said: Abd Allāh ibn Idrīs was asked about praying behind adherents of innovation. He replied, “They have always existed among people. If someone among them is of acceptable character or upright, pray behind him.” I asked, “What about the Jahmiyyah?” He replied, “No; this is one of the deadly pitfalls. These people must not be followed in prayer, nor may one intermarry with them. They must repent.”

He also said: Wakī‘ ibn al-Jarrāh said, “The Rāfidah are worse than the Qadariyyah, the Harūriyyah are worse than them, and the Jahmiyyah are the worst of these
