He also said: “Ibn al-Mubārak said, ‘We do not say, as the Jahmiyyah do, that He is here on earth. Rather, He rose over the Throne.’ He was asked, ‘How do we know our Lord?’ He replied, ‘Above His heavens, over the Throne.’ He said to one of them, ‘Do you think you are devoid of Him?’ The man was dumbfounded. He also said, ‘Whoever says that “There is no god but He” is created is an unbeliever. We can indeed repeat the words of the Jews and Christians, but we cannot repeat the words of the Jahmiyyah.’”
