Bayān Talbīs al-JahmiyyaIbn Taimiya

Imam Abū Umar al-Talamankī said in his book Attaining Knowledge of the Fundamentals: “The Muslims of Ahl al-Sunnah have unanimously agreed that the meaning of ‘He is with you wherever you are’ [al-Hadīd 4], and similar passages in the Quran, is that this refers to His knowledge, and that Allah is in His Essence above the heavens, established over His Throne in whatever manner He wills.”

He also said: “Regarding Allah’s words, ‘The Most Merciful rose over the Throne’ {5} [Tā Hā 5], Ahl al-Sunnah have said that Allah’s rising over His glorious Throne is real, not metaphorical.”
