Bayān Talbīs al-JahmiyyaIbn Taimiya

Adam with His Hand, there would have been no grounds for favoring him over Iblīs on that account. Iblīs could then have argued against his Lord, Mighty and Majestic, saying, “You also created me with Your Hand, just as You created Adam with it.” Since He intended to favor Adam over him in this way, He said to him, rebuking him for being too arrogant to prostrate before Adam:

“What prevented you from prostrating to what I created with My two Hands? Were you arrogant, or were you among the exalted?” [Sād 75]

This demonstrates that the verse does not mean power, since Allah, Mighty and Majestic, created all things
