al-Marīsī and his associates. He said in his preface:

“His attributes and names are exalted above any taint of likening Him to creation or negating His attributes.”

This is true. He then said:

“His rising over means His subjugation and dominion; His descent, His kindness and giving; His coming, His judgment and decree; His face, His existence, or His generosity and bounty; His eye, His protection; His aid, His choosing; His laughter, His pardon, or His permission and approval; and His hand, His bestowal of favor, His honoring, and His choosing.”
