sense—for example, those who say that He descends on the afternoon of the Day of 'Arafah on a gray camel, shaking hands with those on foot and embracing those riding; that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saw Him during circumambulation or in one of the streets of Medina; and that gardens stand where He set foot. These and similar claims falsely describe Him as occupying a spatial location, on the basis of fabricated and forged hadiths.
Because of this ambiguity and multiplicity of meanings in the terms being affirmed or denied, you find groups of Muslims hating one another, becoming enemies, disputing, or fighting over the affirmation or denial of a term. Those who affirm attribute to those who deny meanings they do not intend, while those who deny attribute to those who affirm meanings they do not intend. This is because the term is ambiguous and has multiple meanings, admitting both a true meaning and a false one: the one who affirms interprets it according to the true meaning, while the one who denies interprets it according to the false meaning.
