with his Lord, and no fear will be upon them, nor will they grieve.” {112} [al-Baqarah 111–112]
This applies to earlier and later generations alike, as He, glorified be He, said:
“Do they seek a religion other than Allah’s, when all who are in the heavens and the earth have submitted to Him, willingly or unwillingly, and to Him they will be returned? {83} Say, ‘We believe in Allah, in what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and in what Moses, Jesus, and the prophets were given by their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we submit to Him.’ {84} Whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.” {85} [Āl Imrān 83–85]
And the Most High said:
“Allah bears witness that there is no deity but Him, as do the angels and those endowed with knowledge; He upholds justice. There is no deity but Him, the Almighty, the All-Wise. {18} Indeed, the religion with Allah is Islam.” [Āl Imrān 18–19]
Then He said:
“Those who were given the Scripture differed only after knowledge had come to them, out of mutual transgression. Whoever disbelieves in Allah’s signs—Allah is indeed swift in reckoning. {19} If they dispute with you, say, ‘I have submitted myself to Allah, as have those who follow me.’ And say to those who were given the Scripture and to the unlettered, ‘Have you submitted yourselves?’ If they submit, they are rightly guided; but if they turn away, your duty is only to convey the message. Allah sees His servants.” {20} [Āl Imrān 19–20]
His words:
“Indeed, the religion with Allah is Islam. Those who were given the Scripture differed only after knowledge had come to them, out of mutual transgression.” [Āl Imrān 19]
