exalted is He:

“They did not become divided until after knowledge had come to them, out of mutual envy. Had it not been for a word already issued by your Lord, deferring judgment until an appointed term, judgment would have been passed between them. Indeed, those who inherited the Scripture after them are in disquieting doubt about it.” {14}
