and the same applies to His istiwāʾ toward heaven, His coming, and His arrival, as related in authentic, mass-transmitted texts. On this understanding, this entails no transformation of His Essence. Indeed, it has already been stated that no rational evidence establishes its impossibility.

Section

There are two views concerning the bearers of the Throne. The first is that they bear the Throne but do not bear the One above it. The second is that they bear both the Throne and the One above it, as previously related when presenting these two views. The responses of both groups to this argument will therefore be set out.
