and as for whoever has interpreted monotheism correctly—you have certainly interpreted it incorrectly by claiming that Allah cannot be perceived, nor will He ever be perceived, through any of these five senses. For, according to your claim, He is nothing. Allah refutes anyone making this claim in His Book, where He, Almighty and Majestic, says:
“And Allah spoke directly to Moses.”
[al-Nisā’ 164]
“Allah will neither speak to them on the Day of Resurrection nor purify them.”
[al-Baqarah 174]
“Some faces that Day will be radiant {22}, looking at their Lord {23}.”
[al-Qiyāmah 22-23]
Thus, He has stated in His Book that Moses perceived speech from Him through his hearing, which both you and we acknowledge to be one of the senses, and that He will be perceived in the Hereafter through looking upon Him with the eyes—the second sense—as Allah Most High says:
“Some faces that Day will be radiant {22}, looking at their Lord {23}.”
[al-Qiyāmah 22-23]
