Thus this man, the first of the Jahmiyyah—the deniers of the divine attributes—in this community, denied the reality of the distinctive honors Allah bestowed upon the leader of the sincere monotheists, who worship Allah without associating anything with Him, and upon the one to whom Allah spoke, whom He singled out with His messages and His speech. Allah Most High favors these two messengers and singles them out in such statements as:
“Indeed, this is in the earlier scriptures {18}, the scriptures of Abraham and Moses {19}.” [Al-A‘lā 18–19]
And:
“Or has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Moses {36}, and of Abraham, who fulfilled his obligations {37}?” [Al-Najm 36–37]
These are the two whom the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saw above all the other prophets on the night of the Ascension, in the sixth and seventh heavens. He saw one in the sixth and the other in the seventh. Authentic hadiths report each of them as occupying the higher position.
If, then, the forebears of the Jahmiyyah and those who address the stars are among the greatest polytheists, opposing the messengers of Allah Most High who enjoin the worship of Allah Most High
