And ‘Abd Allāh ibn Bakr reported: Hishām ibn Abī ‘Abd Allāh narrated to us, from Yahyā ibn Abī Kathīr, from [Abū] Ja‘far, who heard Abū Hurayrah say: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

“When a third of the night remains, Allah, Blessed and Exalted, descends and says: ‘Who calls upon Me, that I may answer him? Who asks Me to remove his affliction, that I may remove it from him? Who asks Me for provision, that I may provide for him?
