Further evidence that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is established above His Throne specifically, rather than above all other things, is what the transmitters have related from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. ‘Affān reported: Hammād ibn Salamah narrated to us; ‘Amr ibn Dīnār narrated to us, from Nāfi‘ ibn Jubayr, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

“Allah descends every night to the lowest heaven and says, until dawn breaks: ‘Is there anyone asking, that I may give to him? Is there anyone seeking forgiveness, that I may forgive him?’”
