Yet he is not inconsistent, for his principle is to affirm the attributes found in the Quran and in reports consistent with it, or those found in mass-transmitted reports, but not those found in reports alone, or not those found in reports that are not mass-transmitted. This is the approach of Ibn Aqīl and others like him, and it is one of the two approaches followed by leading Ash'arīs such as Judge Abū Bakr ibn al-Bāqillānī. Nevertheless, they affirm these as non-corporeal attributes.
