or rejected. He is upon the Throne without limit, as He says: ‘Then He rose over the Throne’ [al-A‘rāf 54], in whatever manner He wills. The will belongs to Him, Almighty and Majestic, and the power is His. ‘There is nothing like Him’ [al-Shūrā 11]. He is the Creator of all things, and He is as He has described Himself: All-Hearing, All-Seeing, without limit or measure.
Abraham said to his father: ‘Why do you worship that which neither hears nor sees and cannot benefit you in any way?’ {42} [Maryam 42] Thus it is established that Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing. His attributes are of Him. We do not go beyond the Quran, hadith, and transmitted reports. Allah laughs, and how that is cannot be known except through believing the Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and affirming the Quran. Those who describe Him cannot encompass Him, and no one can set limits to Him. Exalted is Allah above what the Jahmiyyah and those who liken Him to His creation say.”
