He said: “It is related that he used to say, ‘I do not say that Allah Most High is a thing, because that would liken Him to things.’”
He said: “According to what is related of him, he used to say that Allah Most High’s knowledge came into being. He also maintained that the Quran was created and that one should not say that Allah has always known things before they came into existence.”
Likewise, Abū al-Hasan al-Ash‘arī said in his book al-Ibānah:
