He said: “Ibn al-Rāwandī reported that he claimed that Allah resembles the bodies He created in some respect; otherwise, they would not point to Him. It was also reported that he said: ‘He is a body unlike other bodies,’ meaning that He is an existing thing.”
He said: “It has been reported that one of the corporealists affirmed that the Creator possesses color, but denied that He possesses taste, scent, or a tactile quality, or that He is long, broad, or deep. He claimed that He occupies one place rather than another and has been in motion since He created creation.”
He said: “Others said that the Creator is a body, but denied that He could be described as possessing color, taste, scent, a tactile quality, or anything else that Hishām ascribed to Him. They held, however, that He, exalted is He, is upon the Throne, in contact with it and with nothing else.”
