and rulings, until he said:

“They say that Allah did not command evil; rather, He forbade it and commanded good. He does not approve of evil, even though He wills it.”

He described their position concerning the Companions, the caliphate, and their relative merits, then said:

“They accept as true the hadiths transmitted from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, stating that Allah descends to the lowest heaven and says, ‘Is there anyone seeking forgiveness, that I may forgive him?’ As related in the hadith from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, Allah descends to the lowest heaven and says, ‘Is there anyone seeking forgiveness, that I may forgive him?’ They hold fast
